Have you hugged a zombie today?

My first novel, Alice Hearts Welsh Zombies, has been officially launched, and is now available for ordering online!

In celebration of this momentous occasion, I’d like to inflict upon… I mean, offer you a video book trailer featuring crocheted actors (who are cheaper and less argumentative than the living kind).

But Victoria, you cry, I want a zombie pal of my very own! I will hug him and pet him and squeeze him and call him George. Or Vincent Van No Ears as that’s an awesome zombie name. Okay, the point is, I want one and I hate googling for patterns!

Never fear, I’ve written up an original pattern, by which I mean, I scribbled notes on my arm as I crocheted a zombie.

To experience the love that dare not moan its name (wow, that came out wrong):

Just click the link below and you’ll whisked off to my awesome author website which contains all the information an anarchist crocheter needs for creating zombies! Plus all sorts of Alice Hearts Welsh Zombies fun if you’re in the mood to browse…

Crochet a Zombie!

Why? Because…

    1. Bless your heart, Mimi. I'm so glad you enjoyed the video and want to buy the novel! Zombies often make a person's life complete... or take over your life completely. :-)

A fun party game is come up with movies or books that would be improved with the inclusion of zombies. My personal favourite is Gone with the Wind. The burning of Atlanta would have been so much more entertaining!

    1. Alas, there is no pattern. I have an anarchists approach to crocheting, so I never make the same zombie sheep twice. This isn't always ideal as I've already forgotten how to make the sheep in the video. My zombie sheep keep getting fatter which, I must admit,is highly entertaining.

In the meantime, just about any arigurumi sheep pattern is easily transformed into an undead zombie with a judicious application of red yarn. :-)

  3. Hi there. I have no idea how i found your stuff but you totally crack me up. And the patterns!!!! I remember some of these(or others equally weird)! What were they thinking. My Mum knitted my brother a pair of bathers in light blue 4 ply wool, complete with braces! He would have needed the braces to keep them up (and him decent)once he went into the water. Ok, he was only a little bloke at the time, but I have them now. Mum kept them as treasures and I found them after she passed away 18 months ago. I am so tempted to put them in a picture frame along with the photo I have of my brother wearing them,to give to him for Christmas. Thanks for the laughs. I've put you in my favorites so will be checking in from time to time to have a chuckle. Keep it up, it's great.
    Cheers from

    1. Hi Maree,

I have an aunt in Australia -- I'm sure you must know her. ;-)

The bathers and photo combination sounds like the most awesome Christmas present ever! And, of course, if you get the urge to share photos of said present and the reception of said present, I'd be thrilled to see and or feature them on the blog. No pressure. :-)

Things are more than a bit slow on the blog due to the busyness caused by the novel, but it won't die anytime soon. Thanks for dropping a note, it's much appreciated.

    1. Not specifically, but I do like to use zombies as my sign-bearing minions:
